What is NoteWorthy Composer?
NoteWorthy Composer is an very inexpensive, convenient program (free for trial use) for typesetting complicated musical pieces and for playing back those pieces (while tracking along with the music).
Composer (also sometimes called just "NoteWorthy") is useful for a lot of different musical needs, but it's particularly handy for learning new arrangements in a short amount of time. So we've chosen to use NoteWorthy as a way to learn our Good Friday songs as quickly as possible.
So please install an evaluation version of NoteWorthy Composer and use it to view and learn the songs that we're preparing for Good Friday. Follow the instructions below for more details.
Please notice that NoteWorthy is only available for computers running Microsoft Windows. Apologies to you Macintosh users, but then again you're probably used to disappointment already.

How do I use NoteWorthy Composer?
NoteWorthy Composer can do all kinds of stuff, so an exhaustive explanation is impossible to give here (to get all the details, use NoteWorthy's built-in help: select the menu item "Help / Contents").
But here is a very short list of things you'll need to do in NoteWorthy to play & learn these songs.
- To load a song that you'd like to play back, just double-click directly on the NWC file that you downloaded to your computer; if NoteWorthy is installed, it will launch and open the file for you.
- To start playback of a song, select the menu item "Tools / Play". Playback starts from whatever measure you've click in last (you'll see a little blinking cursor there).
- To stop playback of a song, select the menu item "Tools / Stop".
- To control which parts will be played back (a good way to pick out your section's part), select the menu item "Tools / Mute List...".
- Don't save any changes to the song; but if you do (accidentally), you can always re-download the song from the site.
